Competition Dancing
Both social and competitive dancing should be fun; however, as their titles imply, the end goal is much different. If you dream of competing, there is no better feeling than training and performing for an audience, a judge and a score.
Dreaming to win it?
As a competition dance studio, we provide coaching for advanced dancers. We are lucky to have a top-ranked and winning instructor, David Scherer, overseeing our competitive ballroom training. David has decades of experience as a professional dancer and a competition dance instructor. As a coach, he helps serious amateur dance couples and individuals compete at their highest level.
Dreaming to try it?
Like the popular TV show, Dancing With the Stars, many people who want to be a competitive dancer don't start out ready to compete. This is perfectly okay. It is a misnomer that you have to be a professional dancer to compete. There are even a growing number of national competitions that incorporate various levels, divisions, categories and ages. If you’ve always dreamt of competing, do it!
Whether you want to try it out or are in it to win it, competition dancing is a great way to challenge yourself, meet people, travel and dive deeper into a hobby you enjoy.
Private Lessons: Training to Compete
With private ballroom lessons, competition-bound dancers get in-depth coaching tailored to their specific goals and abilities. Private lessons are individual, personal and ultimately the most effective way to compete at your highest level.
Most competitions offer the option to compete with a fellow student (amateur) or a professional instructor as your partner (pro/am). Since our studio encourages both, we give you the option of a one-on-one private lesson with an instructor as your partner, or a private lesson for you and another amateur dance partner.
